This module introduces students to the major themes, writers and historical contexts of Caribbean Literature. It explores how Caribbean texts reflect the region's complex history of colonization, slavery, migration, and cultural diversity. The course highlights key issues such as identity, race, language, resistance, and creolization. Students study works written in English, French and Creole traditions to understand how Caribbean authors express local experiences while engaging with global literary movements. Overall, the module shows how Caribbean literature gives voice to postcolonial realities and cultural hybridity.
